stockphoto01.png

A Bimalleolar Ankle Fracture occurs when both the inner (medial malleolus) and outer (lateral malleolus) bones of the ankle break.

This type of fracture often results from twisting injuries, sports accidents, or falls.

Because two stabilizing bones are involved, surgery is commonly required to realign and stabilize the ankle with plates or screws. Usual, this type of fracture is more common inly this type of fracture is more common with older folks who have had previous foot problems.
