Medial Malleolar Ankle Fracture

stockphoto01.png

This fracture involves the medial malleolus, the inner portion of the tibia that forms part of the ankle joint. It usually results from twisting injuries or falls. Symptoms include localized pain and swelling along the inner ankle. Stable fractures may heal in a cast, but displaced fractures often need surgical fixation.
