stockphoto01.png

The metatarsals are the long bones of the foot connecting the ankle to the toes. Fractures may occur from trauma, overuse, or repetitive stress. Common in athletes, symptoms include forefoot pain, swelling, and bruising. Treatment varies from rest and protective footwear to surgical fixation for displaced fractures.
