Navicular Fracture

stockphoto01.png

The navicular bone is located in the midfoot. A navicular fracture can result from sports stress (stress fractures are common in runners) or from trauma. Pain across the midfoot and swelling on the inside of the foot are typical symptoms. Treatment may involve rest and immobilization, though displaced fractures may require surgery.
