Tibia Fracture

stockphoto01.png

The tibia, or shinbone, is the larger weight-bearing bone in the lower leg. A tibia fracture, often caused by trauma such as a car accident, fall, or sports injury, requires immediate medical attention. Patients frequently experience sharp pain, swelling, and an inability to walk. Depending on the severity, early intervention is crucial, and treatment may involve immobilization with a cast or surgical fixation with rods, plates, or screws.
